The Oase Biotec filters have improved to give a top quality product at a reasonable price. As the water enters the filter the venturi effect inlets helps oxygenate the water and directs the flow down. Larger solids will settle out and the remaining water and waste then rises through the three grades of foam cartridges, which are each designed to improve the clarity and quality of the water. The settlement and high surface area means that compared to similar filters they will take long to block and the maintenance is much lower. When they require cleaning, as shown by the indicator, pulling the appropriate handle cleans them by squeezing the waste out. The built in waste outlet can then be opened allowing the dirty water (excellent fertiliser) to drain out. A 50mm hosetail is supplied for this outlet so hose can be fitted and the waster routed away. The outlet for the filtered water is just over half way up the tank and so the whole unit can be more easily hidden than those with outlets at the bottom. Additional features are a thermometer and an adapter to route an air pipe through the side of the tank making additional oxygenation via an air pump easier to incorporate. The Bitron C range of UV's are the result of many years of intensive research, which have culminated in this state of the art design. These ultra violet clarifiers are supplied with one inlet and two outlets. Both outlets have regulator values and by adjusting these you can control the amount of water which passes over the light. This enables the most efficient use of the light giving the best results. The build up of limescale in an ultra violet is well known for substantially reducing the effectiveness of a unit. This problem had been overcome in the Bitron C in two ways. Firstly the permanent magnets which are installed on all but the 9c and 11c units, reduce the build up limescale in the whole pond system including pumps. Secondly a continuously spinning cleaning device, which is powered using the water flow, ensures that no build up, even silt, starts on the quartz sleeve. Each model has an integrated indicator light or window allowing you to quickly see if the bulb is working. The Oase Aquamax Eco pump is the new version of the very popular Oase Aquamax pumps. One of the best pumps on the market is now even better with up to 40% lower power consumption. The Oase Aquamax has a specially formed impeller, which handles even heavily polluted water. The option for two inlets allows, for a remote strainer (not supplied) or skimmer to be used.
