Oase FiltoMatic CWS Combined Filters(OASO46) | | The new Oase FiltoMatic CWS pond filters are a perfect combination of modern technology AND pond filtration. The Oase FiltoMatic CWS pond filters are a genuine multi-talent: It combines an in built UVC with filter cartridges, digital control/monitor and a sludge pump. The water enters through the UVC and passes down to the bottom of the tank where larger waste will settle out. The water then rises through the foam cartridges, where fine particles are removed before returning to the pond through the outlet, which is near the top of the tank. A sludge pump is located in the base of the filter, which pumps the settled waste and water from the bottom of the filter out through the waste connection. As the water passes through the filter the temperature is monitored, this information then tells the UVC and sludge pump how frequently or long to run, meaning that the bulb life and electrical consumption are optimised. The regular waste removal by the sludge pump ensures that these particles are removed from the pond system on a regular basis, before they have a chance to decompose and produce the nutrients required by string algae. The Oase FiltoMatic CWS pond filters have a weather proof display on the top of the tank that indicates the current temperature and allows programming of the system, thus enabling you to increase or decrease the frequency of cleaning so that you can tailor the process to your requirements. Some people maybe concerned that this system seems to be pumping pond water away to waste, however, small regular water changes are very good for pond systems as they bring fresh minerals to the system and dilute polutants. Unfortunately, this filter does not completely do the job for you, the foam cartridges will require occasionally cleaning, but this is done simply by pulling up the three handles to squeeze the worst of waste out of the foams. | | Pond Volume Litres (Gallons) | Suggested Filter | Included UV | Suggested Hose | Dimensions LxWxD mm | No: of Filter Sponges | Maximum Flowrate Lph (Gph) | Goldfish | Koi | 3000 (660) | 1500 (330) | 3000 CWS | 11w | 38(1½”) | 400x400x520 | 3 | 4000 (880) | 6000 (1320) | 3000 (660) | 6000 CWS | 18w | 38(1½”) | 400x400x720 | 6 | 5000 (1100) | 12000 (2640) | 6000 (1320) | 12000 CWS | 24w | 38(1½”) | 400x600x720 | 12 | 6000 (1320) |
