With the PondoVac 5 Oase have yet again made another major leap forward in pond vacuum technology. The PondoVac 5 design includes many of the features expected with their vacuums but most have been upgraded, however the biggest difference is the ability to pump the water away to waste. This feature overcomes one of the greatest draw backs of other pond vacuums, which is that the waste water escapes under gravity and as such can not go up hill or very far away. Inside the water chamber is a silt pump which will pump the dirty water through the 10m discharge hose and up to 2m above the pond vacuum, although the higher you lift it the slower the flow rate and suction will be. As the name suggest the silt pump will only handle small particles and so inside the water chamber is a pre-filter bag which will catch large particles such as pebbles or leaves, if your pond is full of large waste you may need to net these out first. As the water is being pumped away under pressure from the vacuum the discharge hose needs to be securely connected and Oase have solved this with a C-connection locking system. The PondoVac 5 has new wheels and tyres specifically designed for rough terrain, low-noise whilst in operation and a great clearance . The PondoVac 5 has the same robust aluminium suction tubes and the 5 varied suction nozzles provided with the PondoVac 4. It is supplied with a 2 year guarantee which can be extended to 3 years by sending the warranty card off to Oase. The PondoVac 5 has three optional accessories - a 10m extension drain hose which has the same C-connection, a Telescopic Pole which can extend from 1.8m to 4.8m (replaces the suction pipes) and a 10m floating hose which must be used in conjunction with the Telescopic Pole.
