Keeping the pond floor clean and free of unsightly floor sediment, sludge, and plant remains is necessary, and unfortunately it is often quite tiresome. Now this is no longer the case!

Vacuum the pond clean – non-stop! The Oase PONDOVAC 3 avoids the annoyance of container capacity restrictions, allowing the pond to be vacuumed constantly.


THE TRICK: THE TWO-CHAMBER SYSTEM
The Oase Pondovac 3 pond vacuum has two identically sized cylinders which are filled and emptied in alternating cycles. If one container is full then a valve is mechanically activated by a float. This triggers emptying of one and at the same time allows the other cylinder to be filled. This is how both vacuuming and emptying of the container can occur at the same time!

The Oase Pondomatic is a sludge vacuum cleaner, which can remove loose particles of dirt up to 10mm in size, algae, string algae, sludge, dead vegetation and bits of leaves from the pond by way of suction. The Pondomatic's 27 litre tank is made of impact resistant plastic and features a unique sludge draining system. The sludge is drawn through an adjustable suction nozzle (2-10mm) into the container via a 4m connecting hose. Once the container is full of sludge, the motor switches off automatically (Read Switch). As soon as this happens a special valve at the end of the 2m long discharge hose opens automatically allowing the sludge to drain out of the tank. This takes approximately 25 seconds. The vacuum then starts up again. Included are 3 extra vacuum style nozzles and a net for the discharge hose to catch large particles, such as leaves and blanket weed.

Pond Monsta is the latest innovation from Blagdon to make cleaning your pond quick, easy and safe for your fish. Economical, powerful suction removes pond waste, up to 32mm in diameter with ease, saving you time and allowing you to sit back and enjoy your water garden. The year round problems of leaves, sludge, blanketweed and stones can now be removed easily leaving your pond in pristine condition - pond maintenance has never been so easy. The Monsta has a powerful 6000 litre per hour motor which makes it 4 times faster than other vacuums, which average 1500 litre per hour and is able to remove bigger heavier particles. However, two smaller impellors are included so that the speed and hence flowrate can be slower should you wish. The on/off switch, which is built in to the handle, sends radio signals to the receiver which is incorporated as part of the mains power supply. The motor power is 350w which is much more cost effective to run than other vacs, whose power consumption can be as high as 1500w. The maximum size that most other vacs can collect is 10mm, where as the Pond Monsta will suck up solids of up to 32mm. The large area of the Pond Monsta Collector means much lower maintenance levels than other vacs. The near neutral buoyancy of the Pond Monsta allows easy movement around the pond. The adjustable telescopic handle extends from 1.2m to 2.2m, but an (optional) 1.2m extension can be purchased to extend it’s reach. It is supplied with a 100mm and 200mm cleaning nozzle, and a 300mm brush head can be purchased if you have large flat areas to clean. Supplied with 6m of hose, a 3 year guarantee and 13m of cable. The Pond Monsta Collector allows water to be pumped through a fine mesh allowing collection of particles larger than 2mm such as pebbles, leaves and weed. It will not collect silt or sediment. Hozelock Pond Vacuum

The New Hozelock Pond Vac is a compact and lightweight pond vacuum for quickly cleaning and removing waste from smaller ponds with a minimum of effort. The Pond Vac is supplied with two different suction nozzles: ‘wide’ for large areas and ‘narrow’ for small corners, both of which can be stored on the handle. The water is sucked up through the nozzle by a high pressure but low wattage motor, which has chopping blades fitted to allow removal of large waste matter. The water passes up the handle which is made up from 4 x 0.4m sections allowing the reach of the vacuum to be adjusted. The handle position can be adjusted to ensure a comfortable operation. The water finally exits via the handle, which has a transparent section for viewing the waste disposal, through 3m of flexible hose. All water and waste is removed from the pond to ensure that no harmful polutants are returned. With a motor power of only 80 watts, this vacuum must be one of the least expensive motorised vacuums to run.
