The corrugation of the 50mm (2") Heavy Duty flexible hose contains strengtheners which allow the hose to be flexible and strong but will not kink in most pond installations. This is complimented by a thicker wall thickness which produces a smooth internal wall for reduced friction and better flowrate. The 50mm (2") Heavy Duty flexible hose is black for easy concealment and this also discourages growth of algae on the inside, which can, long term, lead to a reduction in the hose diameter and thus affect the pumps performance. The increased wall thickness slightly reduces the flexibility but increases its strength, this allows it to handle up to 3 bar of pressure. When using flexible pipework we recommend the use of Stainless Steel Jubilee Clips to ensure a secure and leak free installation.
