The Oasis I-Tronic blanketweed remover (designed by Velda) is a revolutionary system that eliminates fibrous and slime algae from your garden pond in a way that is safe for fish and plants. The core of the I-Tronic blankweed remover consists of an anode, made from a mineral copper alloy developed by Velda, and a stainless steel cathode. By means of the microprocessor controlled display unit, pulses are generated, which are led to the core of the I-Tronic. Through these pulses, positively charged copper ions are released, also known as mineralization. These ions are also referred to as minerals. In a defined concentration, the ions form a natural barrier against algae. The concentration of copper ions to remove fibrous algae and stop the growth lies between 0.2 en 0.3 PPM. This is an absolutely safe concentration for people, animals, and plants. For comparison, according to the European drinking water standards, 2 PPM is the maximum allowed for drinking water. A positive side-effect of using the I-Tronic is that the pond water will be healthy, and it spreads a neutral, fresh scent.
