The Evolution Surge Filter + UV is new for 2024 but uses the proven design of the Evolution Aqua Tempest, K+Media and the newly patented Air Technology cleaning and is an easy to install compact filter for ponds of up to 5000 litres.
How does the Serge Filter + UV work? When the flow of water from your pump moves through the water chamber which contains K+ filtration media for friendly bacteria, it pushes the K+ media against a retaining plate creating a mechanical barrier, this clumps the media together and helps it to filters out waste particle. With every circulation through the unit the water passes over the 18w UV lamp which flocculates (clumps) green water algae together making them easier to catch withing the filtration media.
When the filter needs cleaning, you simply switch off the pump, close the inlet and outlet ball valves and open the waste valve, as you do so air rushes up to the body chamber creating turbulence which agitates and cleans the waste from the K+ media and the dirty water exits through the waste valve, making it a very quick and easy cleaning process. The Surge Filter + UV is supplied with the inlet and outlet hosetails (to suit 20mm, 25mm, 32mm hose), valves, 18w UV, waste assembly, 2 mounting brackets, 500mm of clear waste 25mm hose and an elbow for the waste connection. For the filter to work it does need to be mounted vertically with the inlet at the bottom and outlet at the top. The Surge is supplied with a 2 year guarantee.
