RCD (Residual Circuit Breakers) are an essential part of any electrical installation and are particularly important outdoors. The MasterPlug Safety RCD Adaptor is designed to accept a standard 3 pin mains plug and so can be moved from one product to another.The MasterPlug Safety RCD Plug is designed to protect against the risks of electrocution and fire caused by earth faults by constantly monitoring the electrical current. If it detects electricity flowing down an unintended path, such as through a person who has touched a live part or a faulty piece of equipment that has "shorted out", the RCD will switch the circuit off very quickly, significantly reducing the risk of death or serious injury.

• 30 milli-amp Trip Current
• Trip speed 40 milli-seconds (typical) double pole contact break
• 13 amp fused
• Manufactured to BS 7071 1992
The MasterPlug RCD plug is a "non latching" type and will switch off if power to them is turned off. Every time the appliance is turned off or if there is a power cut, the RCD will trip and have to be reset by going to the socket.
Please note that this product is not weather proof and is intended to be used indoors or in a weatherproof box or enclosure.
