MasterPlug Safety RCD Plug

The Masterplug Safety RCD Plug is a rewireable residual current device designed to provide added protection when using electrical appliances, garden equipment and light DIY power tools. It is particularly useful for products such as pond vacuums, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers and portable power tools where extra protection against electric shock is important.

The RCD continuously monitors the electrical current flowing to the appliance. If it detects an earth leakage fault, such as current flowing through an unintended path, it quickly cuts the power to help reduce the risk of serious electric shock.

Masterplug Safety RCD Plug Features

  • Provides added protection against the risk of fatal electric shock
  • Rewireable design for fitting directly to compatible mains-powered equipment
  • Ideal for garden and light DIY use
  • Suitable for lawn mowers, hedge trimmers and portable power tools
  • Active non-latching design trips when power is interrupted
  • Double pole contact break for additional safety

This Masterplug RCD safety plug is an active, non-latching type. This means that if power to the device is turned off, or if there is a power cut, the RCD will trip and must be reset at the socket before the appliance can be used again.

Before each use, the test and reset buttons should be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions to check that the RCD is operating correctly. If the RCD repeatedly trips during use, the appliance or cable should be checked and expert advice should be sought.

  • Maximum current: 13 amps
