This 10kg NT Labs Medikoi Probiotic Wheatgerm with Garlic is a complete 6mm pellet food for koi and other pond fish. Formulated for feeding during late autumn, winter and early spring, its reduced protein content makes it easier for fish to metabolise when their activity and digestion slow in cooler water.
The recipe contains probiotic bacteria and a prebiotic to support efficient digestion and help fish obtain the available nutrients from their food. The probiotic bacteria and digestive enzymes help break down the food and release its nutrients. The recipe also contains fructo-oligosaccharide, a prebiotic that provides food for beneficial gut bacteria and helps sustain an active population within the digestive system.
Garlic and Reduced Protein
Garlic is included to encourage fish to continue feeding during the cooler months. Its naturally occurring sulphur-rich compounds can also permeate the skin of fish and are associated with helping to repel external parasites.
As pond fish grow more slowly when their metabolism is reduced, the food contains 28% crude protein. This provides an appropriate lower-protein diet for cooler conditions while helping to reduce fish waste and the risk of an oily slick forming on the pond surface.
