With the PondoVac 5 Oase have yet again made another major leap forward in pond vacuum technology. The PondoVac 5 design includes many of the features expected with their vacuums but most have been upgraded, however the biggest difference is the ability to pump the water away to waste. This feature overcomes one of the greatest draw backs of other pond vacuums, which is that the waste water escapes under gravity and as such can not go up hill or very far away. Inside the water chamber is a silt pump which will pump the dirty water through the 10m discharge hose and up to 2m above the pond vacuum, although the higher you lift it the slower the flow rate and suction will be. As the name suggest the silt pump will only handle small particles and so inside the water chamber is a pre-filter bag which will catch large particles such as pebbles or leaves, if your pond is full of large waste you may need to net these out first. Will a pond vacuum filter out the dirt so the water can be returned to the pond ?

As with all pond vacuums the water is sucked on to the main body chamber and then released from the discharge pipe. This dirty water can be released into a drain or soak away, however it often contains nutrients which a great for your garden, so it can also be released on to nearby planting areas or grass.
