We are all now embracing the ease of using cordless tools and you can now do this with your pond vacuum. If your pond is too far away from your mains supply or you just want to avoid cables running around your garden then the Power X Change Cordless Pond Vacuum is an ideal vacuum for you. It is ideal for removing loose particles of dirt up to 10mm in size, as well as algae, string algae, sludge, dead vegetation and bits of leaves from the base of a small pond, by way of suction. The sludge is drawn through an adjustable suction nozzle (4-10mm) into the vacuum body via a 4m suction hose. Like many of the other vacuums once the container is full of sludge and water, the motor switches off automatically and a special valve at the end of the 2m long discharge hose opens allowing the sludge and water to drain out of the tank, this takes approximately 25 seconds. The vacuum then re-starts. The Power X Change is supplied with 2 extra vacuum style nozzles: crevice nozzle and a flat nozzle with rubber lip and a net for the discharge hose to catch larger particles, such as leaves and blanket weed. Supplied with a 2 year guarantee. The 500 watt motor is powered by 2 x 18v batteries (3ah each) and will produce a flow of 3000 litres per hour and lift water up to 1.8m. In automatic operation (pond cleaning) the batteries can run the vacuum for up to 60 minutes but if you use it as a wet and dry vac on continuous operation then they will power the vacuum for 30 minutes. Please note that the waste from the vac should be release in to a drain or soak away or alternatively the waste water and sludge can be added to the garden as it is a very effective fertiliser.
