With the introduction of the BioTec ScreenMatic 2 Filters Oase have shown that they are always innovating and improving their pond filters. The New and upgraded Biotec ScreenMatic 2 range now features an improved coarse debris system and electronic control system. Simple operation, fast, clean maintenance and outstanding filtration are the results. A specially designed sieve catches all debris particles above 300 microns that arrive in the filter. The sieve has been designed as a belt which rotates when dirty via a built-in 12v motor and is scraped clean as it turns. The dirt build up on the screen is monitored by a new sensor system which only operates the 12v motor when needed, thus saving running costs and wear and tear. The waste falls in to an increased capacity tray for disposal. The water which is enriched with oxygen, then falls into the chamber below, flows through the filter zones and then reaches the next filter chamber. The friendly filter bacteria present in the pond water settle and multiply in the oxygen rich sponges. The individual chamber situated just in front of the outlet holds a number of Zeolite filled cartridges which are ideal when starting up the filter. Once established the material inside can be changed to Phosless (not supplied) which will help prevent algae growth in the pond. Each filter is also supplied with a plunger to allow for easy cleaning of the foam cartridges and a brush to aid cleaning of the belt. Once the foams have been squeezed out a valve is pulled and the dirty water drains from the tank. The drain is at the bottom of each filter and is 50mm on the 40000, 60000 and 90000 and 75mm on the 145000.
