The Oase ProfiClear Premium Compact - M and L are Pump or Gravity Fed Pond Filters which feature the self-cleaning technology and moving bed filtration principles of Oase Premium Modular Kits but in a single tank. Pond water enters the tank in the centre of the drum and flows out through the fine mesh sieves into the tank. Thanks to the drum technology, the debris which is trapped on the inside surface of the sieves is easily and automatically cleaned. An integrated water sensor measures when the drum needs cleaning and triggers the rotation of the drum and activates the water jets, which blast the mesh clean. The debris and water are collected and drained out of the tank to waste. This cleaning process is achieved using a powerful, high-quality pressure pump which is mounted in the base of the tank. The mesh sieves are very easy to remove (no tools required), and the free-wheeling function makes for easy access to the drum interior. Rakes on the inside of the drum help prevent the sieves from being choked by algae. Not only does the filter have a maximum flowrate but to ensure it works correctly, it also has a minimum flow.

The second stage in the filtration process is biological filtration. In this area the water is released from the perforated retransfer tube into the moving bed part of the filter, which contains specially designed "Hel-X 13" Biomedia. The water in this area is continually "moving" due to the release of air at a rate of 2000 LPH from the integrated aerator (air pump not included). This design of moving media in water, which is highly enriched with oxygen, is the ideal environment to ensure the highly efficient removal of toxins, ensuring perfect water conditions.

The Oase Bitron UV (which is sold separately) are specifically designed to use on the inflow side of the pump-fed model or the outflow side of the gravity-fed design (normally fitted after a pump)
